Wessex Films

This article is for those of you lucky enough to be studying at the University of Southampton. The filmmaking society here is called Wessex Films and is one of the premiere student filmmaking societies in the UK.

For those of you who are members of Wessex Films, Hello! I am Jacob, welcome to my website. I know its a little bit sad that I pretend to be running my own production company but I do try my best to satarise the larger, better known 'Hollywood' Production companies...

Anyway, welcome to JD Pictures. This site contains all of the short films I have so far produced, mostly on my own. I would reccomend you take a look at some of them by clicking on the films section. My favourite is the Duke of Edinburgh Expedition film.

Most of the films on here are part of my learning experience - the only way to learn how to make films is to make films! So I am sorry for the varying quality of my films...

I have just moved over to using Macs and Final Cut for editing and post production so I am still learning my way around the mac environment. Take a look at the YETI Trailer, which was edited using Final Cut.

Currently I am writing a script for a feature film, currently called 'Dozen'. It tells the story of Jake, who finds the body of his stalker in the woods. A series of mysterious clues lead Jake and his best friend Zoe on a twisted trail of love, hate, revenge, murder and betrayal. Wow that so pretentious! Anyway, I am looking for some help with the script as I am not very good at writing what I like to think of as 'natural' dialougue... If anyone is interested, please contact me!
